Shane, i'd like to hear more about the intensive polish liquid, can this stuff replace the polishing bars alone or is it applied after the usage of the 2 bars, an inquiring mind would really like to know please?

I just wanted annouce that today I received my first shipment of Menzerna buffing products and some fretwire. So for those interested these are the products I have and the prices: W18 - Medium Polishing Bar (3 lbs)...$21 each W16 - Fine Polishing Bar (3 lbs).....$21 each Intensive Polish Liquid (16 oz)......$15 Fretwire - I just brought in one size on this first order but also brought a bit of stainless in the same size if anyone wants to try it. I am! Fretwire .080 Crown, .043 high, .020 tangwidth 18% nickel/silver.......$1.05/ft Stainless Steel.........$1.25/ft Buying in 100 foot lengths or by the pound would be quite a bit less expensive but I need to have a minimum of 25 pounds of the same size before I made this 'bulk' order. For reference you will need about 4 feet for one guitar, if you are careful! I am also excited to inform you all that I will be distributing Gotoh Tuners as well as the Sperzel's I already carry. The current deal that Peter has on the go is in bulk packaging, mine will be in consumer packaging and pricing will be competative with the big suppliers. I will wait until you all have the group buy dealt with to add this to the website and inform you all of the pricing and models I will carry. I will have these currently new products up on my website in a few days once the new purflings and bindings I expect any day have arrived. S'about time someone carried the "Intensive Polish"! Well done. I've been using that stuff for a while(recommended to me by Jeff at Target Finishes). A great final step that I see missing in many other's finishes. How many feet of wire in a pound of stainless? |

Serge, after.... It's the last touch, I use a dedicated buff for just that one. Find your softest, old buff, wash it, and use it just for this. This step isn't necessary, and is a bit anal, really, but it can make that last bit of difference. It'll also show if your sanding technique isn't just so <bg> |

Thanks for the comments! I am excited about carrying (and using) these products. They are the best you can get from the research I have done. So on the fret wire. I just weighed out a pound of the stainless wire. It is 15.5 wraps at 19.5 inch in diametre. Using pye x d it works out to about 79 feet. Stewmac lists a similiarly sized wire in NS as 68 feet in a pound. So I don't know if stainless is lighter or my math is wrong but that is what I come up with. I can drop the price on a per pound basis but I would need a group of people to get together as the minimum to get the price down is a coil, and that is alot of wire! Shane |
